Find out what your options are

Seats in the local public school system are limited for expats and the tuition cost often competes with that of private schools. With over 60 international schools in Singapore, each school offers either a national, international or a combination of different curriculum options you can choose from.

Look for a school culture that aligns with your values

When it comes to international schools, every school follows its own learning and teaching philosophy based on a set of key values, principles and objectives. As a result, no two schools are alike and each school may be more or less aligned with your values, needs and expectations.

Here are some of the ways we support your family during this important transition:

Simple application process

Our admissions process is simple and easy. We are always just one call or email away if you have any questions or concerns.

Every child a valued individual

Our caring teachers and our safe and loving school environment help bring out the best in your child, providing the sense of comfort and belonging they need for a smooth transition.

Family-like atmosphere

Despite the rapid growth of our school, our small student-to-teacher ratio and our personalised approach to learning allow us to maintain our intimate and family-like school atmosphere.

Kindness initiatives

Through our kindness initiatives, we further promote our students’ sense of belonging. We also encourage collaboration, foster mutual respect and create a positive, inclusive and healthy school setting for all.

Northern Hemisphere academic calendar

We follow the Northern Hemisphere school year, starting in August and ending in June. Enrolment is open throughout the year and admission is based on grade seat availability.

Reasonable tuition fees

Our tuition fees are widely regarded as being quite reasonable for the value we offer in terms of a well-rounded education. At OWIS, your child will have access to world-class curricula, experienced and passionate educators and a warm and inclusive community, so they can achieve their full potential.

Get familiar with the admissions process

International schools in Singapore follow different academic calendars, which can impact your child’s admission and family travel plans. Most schools accept new students throughout the year based on availability but, with a large demand for school places, getting on a long waitlist is nothing out of the ordinary.

Budget for school tuition fees and other expenses

As one of the world’s most expensive cities, high tuition fees can add extra financial stress on your family. When reviewing your schools of interest, find out exactly what you're paying for and what other expenses you’ll need to budget for.

For some families, Singapore is just a temporary home. For others, it becomes their new long-term home. Regardless of how long you plan to stay, the Lion City is well-known for its safety, high quality of life, vibrant expat community and outstanding education system. So how can you make the most out of your relocation and find the best school for your child?

CHARITY D.

We wanted a school that would offer our child the opportunity to mix with a diverse range of cultures. An IB curriculum was also very important. As our children are young, we needed to feel secure that they were going to be safe at all times.

OWIS has dedicated Early Years classrooms and a playground that is secure but still part of the whole setup of the school. We did not want a very big school such that they became “just another child in the crowd”. We visited a few schools and OWIS was by far the best one in terms of answering enquiries and providing relevant information on the open days.

EDWARD AND ASUKA C.

Both our girls are very fond of their teachers and are always keen to go to school each day. We have seen significant improvements from their time with the school, especially in terms of reading and writing.

We have noted that the teachers take the time to get to know each student at an individual level, putting significant effort into building the children’s social skills, and encouraging them to solve problems on their own.

Worried about your child’s English skills?

Watch this short video to see how our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme can help your child feel more confident as a member of our multicultural student community and gain excellent command of the English language.

ON-USAH C.

As a new student, both to the school and the language, I was worried about my daughter. She was previously in a Thai school and we realised that her weak grasp of English could obstruct her daily school life. But after starting at OWIS, she had settled in very well after the first few weeks.

The English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme offered one-on-one support, which has helped her to catch up quickly with her social life and normal classes. We are delighted to be a part of the One World community.
