International Primary School in Singapore for children between 7 to 11 years
What to expect from our Primary Grades at OWIS
Our children attended a local preschool for four years prior to OWIS. We were looking for a school that provided a positive and challenging learning environment, taught various learning styles, provided a safe and encouraging environment and made our children feel they belonged. Additionally, we were looking for a school that fit our budget and yet did not compromise on the amenities.
The diversity here is second to none and the facilities are commendable. The level of communication makes all the difference in the world. We appreciate the regular updates so we know what and how our children are learning. Teachers and staff are positive, pleasant, engaging and student-centered.
The diversity here is second to none

Friendly and intimate school environment
Teachers, students and staff contribute to our school's warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it easier for your child to adjust to their new environment. Our cosy, comfortable and well-thought-out indoor and outdoor learning spaces encourage students to explore their curiosity, develop a love of learning and feel excited about going to school every day.
Holistic and rigorous curriculum
Through our inquiry-led learning approach in our Primary grades, students learn to be proactive early on. We prepare them for the academic rigour of Secondary School and higher studies by encouraging them to think independently, ask questions about the world around them and explore topics of interest.
We also prioritise character development by teaching timeless values and creating a safe environment for children to try new things, build self-esteem and develop a lifelong love of learning through a balanced mix of traditional and technology-driven education.
(OWIS Nanyang is accredited for the IB PYP. OWIS Suntec is a Candidate School for the IB PYP.)
Why consider the IB Primary Years Programme at OWIS?
We value and treat every child as a unique individual. To achieve optimal personal and academic growth, we personalise your child's learning journey based on their specific needs, interests and progress.
With a balanced time-table that includes Mandarin, Art, Music, PE and ICT, a wide variety of CCAs, a roster of events and celebrations, and opportunities for outdoor learning, each term presents an exciting learning experience in itself that your child will thoroughly enjoy.
In our small class sizes, your child benefits from greater personal care and attention. Being part of a small and nurturing classroom environment also helps students form more meaningful connections with their teachers and peers.
Our teachers model our core values of kindness, compassion and international mindedness, and through this approach and our Pastoral Care Programme, we nurture these same attributes in our learners. Your child will receive a warm welcome in our school community and will feel supported throughout their learning journey.
To ensure all 70+ nationalities are equally represented across our school body, we cap enrolment of students coming from a single nationality at 30%.
As a not-for-profit educational institution, we reinvest back into our school to continuously improve our quality of teaching. That way, we can deliver the highest quality of education without excessively high fees.
Experienced and caring teachers
Our qualified teachers have experience catering to different types of learners in an international setting and continuously upgrade their teaching skills. We select teachers who are passionate about providing guidance, support and understanding during those formative years, so your child can flourish emotionally, socially and academically.
Kind and truly multicultural school
Through various cultural awareness initiatives, students learn to appreciate other cultures and respect different points of view. With kindness, diversity and inclusivity at the core of our school’s DNA, your child becomes part of a safe, healthy and truly international school community built on mutual trust and respect.
I love the international exposure, strong second language curriculum and less stressful environment compared to other international schools. The fees are reasonable too.
What does being part of the One World family look like?
Being in Singapore, which is so multiracial and multicultural, we wanted our children to be exposed to an environment with racial diversity and an international outlook. OWIS has lived up to all our expectations!
One World International School has provided such a positive experience for my son and our family. The OWIS family embraced us with open arms and my son felt immediately included. On his very first day, he told me "I feel like I have been going to this school for a long time. I love it here!" He’s been excited to go to school ever since.
My son is growing emotionally and intellectually. I can see the strong support of the teachers. It’s our second year with OWIS and the teachers are great; academically the results are amazing. I personally love visiting the school. I can see the smiles from everyone, from the administration team to the canteen staff. It is really important for children to start the day on a positive note!

Optional Programmes in Primary School at OWIS
Chinese-English Bilingual Programme
Aligned with the IB PYP, our optional Bilingual Programme provides students with an immersive experience in both Chinese and English. By building on their existing proficiency in these two languages, children gain an invaluable competitive edge for the future. This programme is currently only being offered at OWIS Nanyang.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Programme
Available at all our campuses, this optional programme is designed to expand the language proficiency skills of children who are new to English. With personalised support from well-qualified teachers and engaging activities, children are able to work on their English skills so they can access the curriculum easily and effectively and form close bonds with their classmates and others in the school community.
