Modified Cambridge Curriculum
In Grades 6 to 8, we follow the Modified Cambridge curriculum, which is based on the Cambridge Lower Secondary framework and has been adapted for our international school’s context.
This well-rounded programme, which covers academic subjects and co-scholastic and digital learning, has been designed as a bridge to the IGCSEs in Grade 9 and 10 and starts preparing students with the knowledge and skills they will need as they progress towards the higher grades.
Cambridge IGCSE Programme
In the Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10 at OWIS, students can develop their understanding of different subjects in more depth and apply their knowledge in real-world situations. It is a skills-based, well-rounded programme based on a structured and rigorous curriculum, making it the perfect preparation for the pre-university grades. (OWIS Nanyang is accredited for the Cambridge IGCSE.)
Why consider the IGCSE and IB DP at OWIS?
Through our hands-on teaching strategies, your child gains foundational 21st-century skills, giving them the confidence and tools they need to succeed in a global economy.
There are ample opportunities for teen students to grow outside the classroom through our variety of engaging extracurricular activities, workshops and community service programmes.
By interacting with different cultures, traditions, languages and lifestyles, students learn to be mindful and respectful of others, developing a strong sense of belonging and international mindedness.
We establish a strong rapport with our Secondary School students through our Pastoral Care Programme. Our initiatives for student well-being and nurturing the attributes of the IB Learner Profile ensure that our students feel supported and valued in their learning journey.
To ensure all 70+ nationalities are equally represented across our school body, we cap enrolment of students coming from a single nationality at 30%.
As a not-for-profit educational institution, we reinvest back into our school to continuously improve our quality of teaching. That way, we can deliver the highest quality of education without excessively high fees.
Academic excellence and personal growth
Secondary education at OWIS is rigorous, modern and stress-free because it’s centred around students’ well-being and their holistic development.
So, while we prioritise academic excellence, we also support your child's personal growth. That way, they can pursue their interests, build confidence and acquire key tools to overcome adversity and triumph in uncertainty.
Pastoral care and career planning support
To ensure our education programmes are as supportive and nurturing as they can be, all secondary students have access to our Pastoral Care programme.
We also offer career planning resources and university application guidance, so your child can find the most suitable university placements based on their unique goals, ambitions and aspirations.
IB Diploma Programme
With the IB DP, students are successfully prepared for higher education and beyond. Globally recognised as one of the popular pre-university programmes, your child will improve their independent research, analytical and critical thinking skills. Students also learn to collaborate and work in teams, further developing their sense of responsibility, cultural awareness and open-mindedness.
(OWIS Nanyang is accredited for the IB DP.)
Qualified, engaging and experienced teachers
Your child has a team of dedicated and dynamic teachers to rely on every step of their learning journey. We select teachers based on their experience, qualifications and shared values.
Every teacher is uniquely qualified to teach international students and is personally invested in the growth and success of your child, both as a student and an individual.
